Q1. What kinds of student organizations does XJTLU have?A: Student Union and AOSS (Association of Student Societies) are the two main autonomous student organizations of XJTLU, they were established in 2006. The Student Union aims at enriching campus culture and defending student's rights, which is an important platform between university and students. AOSS consists of all the university student clubs and aims at providing service, organizing and monitoring student club's activities and accelerating campus cultural health development.Q2. How to join in the student organizations?A: At the beginning of each academic year, Student Union and AOSS will hold recruitment conferences, every student who is interested in them can choose one or more student organizations to register for.Q3. How do the student cadres come out?A: Every March the Student Union will hold Student Congress, which will elect the new presidium of Student Union (including President, Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer, General Secretary, and director of each department). And every April will hold the election of new AOSS presidium.Q4. What kinds of campus activities do student organizations hold?A: Student organizations have already achieved their own branding activities. The Student Union activities are open to all students, focus on academics, arts and sports and are held by the Student Union departments. Student clubs activities are more flexible, mostly within each club, but some distinctive clubs activities will be open to all students.Q5. What kinds of distinctive student activities does XJTLU have?A: There are some XJTLU distinctive student activities of the Student Union: the Welcome series activities, the English Speech Competition, the English Debating Competition, the Model United Nations, the Christmas series activities, the Top 10 campus singer competition, Moderator competition, sports competition, Interesting sports games, SIFE projects, lectures etc.There are some XJTLU distinctive student activities of AOSS:the Student Club Festival, the student Photography contest, the student DV competition, sports competitions, charity activities, lectures etc. Q6. How many categories of student club?A: There are four categories of student club: academic, social practice, cultural arts and sports.Q7. May I set up a student club with classmates?A: Student clubs are student organizations which consists of students who have similar interests. Whoever wants to set up a student club needs to abide by AOSS regulations on establishment of a new student club. The application need to get approval from AOSS and the Student Affairs Office, and then hold club activities.Q8. If a student who is not a member of any student organizations wants to hold activities, how can he/she hold it?A: The Student Union provides support for all students, it will accept all student requirements. Any students who wants to hold activities can contact the Student Union, and the Student Union will deal with their requirements.Q9. What are the processes of holding student activities?A: Each student who wants to do an activity needs to hand in the activity plan to the student organization and Student Affairs Office, then they can apply for facilities and play them after getting approval.
